For Clients/Patients

Find a Massage Therapist.

The best way to find a massage therapist is to first ask your friends and family members for a recommendation.  Also ask your doctor. Getting a referral just gives you a place to start though as massage therapy is such a subjective process – what feels great and works for one person may not feel great or work for another.

Types of Massage

Insurance Coverage for Massage Therapy.

If you have been injured at work, you may be covered by Labor and Industries.  If you were in a motor vehicle collision or slip/fall accident, the massage may be covered by your auto insurance.  You will need to get a prescription from a doctor and make the necessary arrangements to open claims with the insurance.

Health insurance in WA covers massage therapy sessions when there is an injury or condition that will benefit from massage therapy.  Massage therapy needs to be medically necessary which means you need a prescription for massage from your doctor and the doctor must provide a treatment plan.   Insurance DOES NOT cover maintenance massage and massage just because you want one.   Read more on insurance coverage.
